A message from the school principal
Dear Prospective St. Mel School Families,
Thank you for considering sending your child to St. Mel Catholic School. St. Mel School will undoubtedly become your child’s home away from home. It is our goal to partner with you as the primary educators of your child and work together in making them successful at St. Mel School. Your child will be surrounded by a nurturing, loving, and Christ-centered community of students, faculty, staff, and families while receiving a world-class Catholic education.
St. Mel School was founded in 1959 by the Sisters of Mercy of Doon from Ireland. Throughout the years, the values of the Sisters of Mercy remain a pillar in the implementation of Gospel teachings in our classrooms. St. Mel School continues the proud tradition of the Sisters of Mercy which is “Integrating Faith with Academic Excellence” and “Service to Others”.
St. Mel School offers a variety of activities that meet the needs of the whole child academically, spiritually, and emotionally. To name a few, we offer weekly Mass as a whole school and monthly prayer services and faith-filled opportunities. In addition, we offer an extensive athletic program available to students in grades 1st – 8th including flag football, volleyball, basketball, cross-country, golf, and track. Student Council provides students in grades 6th and 8th opportunities to practice leadership, public speaking skills and develop organizational abilities.
It is our goal that your child receives a faith-based education that prioritizes community, academic excellence, and develops lifelong learners. Please call the school office today to schedule a meeting with me and receive a tour of our beautiful campus.
We can’t wait for you to join our family.
Sincerely In Christ,
Mrs. Megan French
