Fran Dellaserra

Vice Principal | Junior High (6-8) Science, STEM

I was born and raised in New York City and moved to California after high school to pursue my degrees and play women’s intercollegiate basketball. I have been teaching in the Diocese of Sacramento since 1983, after earning my BA and BS from the University of San Francisco and my MA in Exercise Science from Sac State. I have primarily taught middle school science and math and am currently in my third year serving as vice principal at St. Mel.

My 41-year teaching career began at Sacred Heart, where I worked for 24 years. I am now in my 17th year at St. Mel. Additionally, I have taught math and science at Jesuit during the summers for 17 years. This summer, my husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. Our three children are alumni of St. Mel, which provided a solid foundation for their successful educational pursuits beyond St. Mel.

I enjoy watching sports, working out, listening to music, and playing guitar.
